Birchbank Farm Camping is easy to find, just off the A5092, 2 miles North of Gawthwaite.
On the A5092, half a mile west of Gawthwaite heading towards Grizebeck, turn right (north) signposted to Woodland.
After 1.7 miles turn right and fork immediately left for Birchbank Farm.
Birchbank Farm is a small, quiet campsite, located on a sheep farm on the fells between Coniston Water and the Duddon Estuary.
Birchbank Farm welcomes tents, caravans and motorhomes, with 8 electric hook-ups available if required.
The campsite site is a short detour from the Cumbria Way if you are walking.
There are loads of footpaths & bridleways on the fells surrounding the campsite - a perfect area for walkers and mountain bikers (on bridleways of course!).
The roads are relatively quiet and great for cyclists too.
The grassy and mostly flat site is "off the beaten track" and next to the open fell, with a small stream running through it.
Dogs are welcome, but must be kept under control and on a lead because of the sheep.
Children welcome.
We have a sink for washing dishes, pans, etc.
We also have an emptying point for chemical toilets.
Please note that TV reception only available with a satelite dish.
